Bangor Marathon features new logo honoring marathon world record holder

The Great Bangor Marathon has a new logo honoring the legacy of Kenya’s Kelvin Kiptum.

Kiptum set the marathon world record in Chicago in 2023 before tragically passing away in a car accident in his home country in February.

Race organizers say he’s a great example for anyone around the sport.

“He had a great attitude towards training and a love for the sport of marathoning. He had outstanding performance, outstanding training. He was just a trailblazer in the sport of marathoning. This is a good year to have this great logo for the Bangor Marathon,” said David McIntyre, Race Director.
